Good Green Death Projecte

The GGDP is working to make available more eco-friendly alternatives to our current death and dying options. Cremation uses fossil fuels and emits greenhouse gasses, and traditional burial requires and buries valuable resources such as exotic woods and metals, while doing everything possible to prevent the natural process of body decomposition.

We're working towards establishing cemeteries that protect existing forests and that will be reforested by using composted human remains to plant new memorial trees. Our work is closely following Recompose in Seattle Washington, where a peer-reviewed paper on the process and a bill has been introduced to legalize Recomposition to Washington State. The work of the GGDP is to be the next location in Waterloo Region. Because everyone wants to be a tree after they die.
