Refugee Week 2026 Market

On 20th June, community organisers Paz Roman and Larissa Dulat will host a Refugee Week Cultural Day at the Addison Road Community Centre in Marrickville. This community-led celebration honours the strength, culture, and contributions of refugee communities across Sydney.

We are reapplying for this funding as our efforts to secure alternative financial support have been unsuccessful. Key logistics are fully locked in: venue secured, First Nations smoking ceremony representative confirmed, and a full cohort of 24 stallholders from refugee and First Nations communities ready to participate. We are in the process of securing artists for cultural performances or live music.

Program Highlights
Cultural Stalls & Art: Showcasing traditions and works from diverse refugee and First Nations backgrounds.
Performances & Food: Live music and traditional cuisines.
Children's corner: arts and crafts facilitated by volunteer teachers.
Social Impact: Organisers will host a stall with all funds raised donated to the Blak Caucus and Refugee Advice and Casework Services.
Accessibility: Stall holders from refugee and First Nations communities participate at no cost to ensure zero barriers to entry.

This event is a celebration of resilience and belonging. With the hall secured and key representatives confirmed, your support will directly enable this vital community connection.
