My project is mainly about repairing the broken and worn-down instruments that have been neglected in the band storage room of GMHS (Georgetown Middle High School). There are many instruments in there that have been collecting dust and many of them are non-functional anymore. There is also the opportunity for families in Georgetown to bring their own personal instruments for repair as well. As a Boy Scout and someone who also loves music, I saw this as an opportunity in order to repair the broken instruments in the band room. A part of this project will be working with volunteers in order to perform minor dent removal and cleanups, while others will include hiring the help of professionals to perform major repairs. I plan on also hosting music events in order to raise additional money as repairing these instruments are not cheap.
