One hundred years after it first crept from the shadows, F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu remains one of the most haunting and influential films ever made. Released in 1922, this unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula transformed the vampire into a nightmare figure, giving cinema one of its most unforgettable monsters in Count Orlok. Through distorted architecture, ghostly imagery, and groundbreaking visual effects, Murnau crafted a work that still feels unsettling a century later.

We are bringing this masterpiece of horror to life with an all-new original score created by 14 members of the Central Florida Composers Forum (CF2), performed live by the Fernwood String Quartet at the Enzian Theater.

To achieve this, the 14 composers cooperated in "spotting" who would write music for which scenes. They submitted thematic melodies (think Jaws, where the shark, the boat, and the captain each have their own themes) and voted on which to include. They then went to work composing their own sections with the pre-agreed-upon themes at hand. This process ensures thematic unity for the audience, even as each composer scores their scene with their own distinct personal style.

14 living, local composers! The Fernwood Quartet! (This is Orlando's only string quartet dedicated to new music. You may also know them from the very famous Candlelight Concerts Series, which has grown in popularity in recent years. AND! This is CF2's first collaborative venture with The Enzian, a mainstay of Orlando's Indie Film Scene.
