This project is a hands-on, OT-informed memory care engagement pop-up…designed to support cognitive stimulation, emotional regulation, and social connection for older adults experiencing memory loss or cognitive change in the Ipswich community.

In partnership with the Ipswich Council on Aging, the pop-up will provide guided, low-pressure memory care–appropriate activities that prioritize success, familiarity, and dignity. Activities will include reminiscence-based conversation prompts, visual matching and memory games, high-contrast materials, and calming sensory experiences designed for seated participation and a range of cognitive abilities.

The goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where seniors can meaningfully engage without pressure, while also modeling practical memory care strategies caregivers can continue using beyond the event. The program is designed to be inclusive, adaptable, and appropriate for both early-stage memory loss and individuals needing simplified engagement.
