braveONE is an in-person mentorship program for children and teens living with Type 1 Diabetes. We match each child with a carefully screened adult mentor who also lives with T1D, so kids have someone in their corner who truly understands their daily reality. Our project focuses on building real connection through simple, joyful outings like getting ice cream, visiting a park, or creating art together. This grant would allow us to build and distribute Warrior Boxes to newly diagnosed families while hosting a community pick-up day where families can meet, connect, and learn about our free mentorship program. While the boxes provide comfort and encouragement, the bigger impact is expanding braveONE into new communities and helping families realize they are not alone and that long-term support exists beyond diagnosis.
