Pop-up Free Farmers Market

In the summer of 2025, two local nonprofits—Nourishing the North Shore and Three Sisters Garden Project—will partner to ensure that low-income residents of Ipswich, MA, continue to have reliable access to fresh, local food.

Three Sisters Garden Project is relocating part of its operations after its landlord, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (SND), changed the terms of a longstanding land-use agreement. As a result, Three Sisters will pause its weekly CSA distributions during the transition.

To fill this temporary gap, Nourishing the North Shore will host three pop-up Free Farmers Markets at 3 Washington Street in Ipswich on August 26, September 9, and September 23. These markets will offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables at no cost to local low-income residents, helping to ensure continued food access during the five-week disruption.
