At Kairos Ubuntu Foundation, we’re launching our first-ever Back-to-School Community Event to serve children in South Florida who are affected by trauma, displacement, and poverty. But we’re not just giving out backpacks — we’re restoring dignity.
Our Kairos Care Kits are trauma-informed school prep kits that include not only supplies like pencils and notebooks, but also hygiene essentials, affirmation cards, and emotional wellness tools designed to help children walk into the school year with confidence, peace, and hope.
The $1,000 grant will allow us to create 50 full Kairos Care Kits — complete with age-specific items and a handwritten note of encouragement in each. This project is deeply personal: many of the kids we serve are survivors of domestic violence, children in transitional housing, or youth navigating instability. These kits are more than supplies — they’re symbolic declarations that these kids matter.
Our vision is to launch this event in July 2025, with music, food, games, and resource booths, and to scale it annually across more cities. But it starts here. With 50 children. With 50 backpacks. With one awesome act of community love.
