Community Science Kits

Kiddie Science is a nonprofit organization based in Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn that presents hands-on, in-person science workshops for families and children.

With our doors currently closed, we've transitioned to online learning as much as possible. However, access to science materials is a tremendous hurdle when attempting to re-engage our audience in an online platform.

Our goal is to provide the local community with mini science kits that contain the basic materials needed to engage in online science learning. These kits will each contain a magnifying lens, pipette, refraction disc, science booklet, specimens to explore, diffusion paper, coir pods, seeds, mini pots, and other supporting materials. They will be made available at no cost to families, and will be available for no-contact pickup at the Kiddie Science Lab, which is centrally located within the community we serve.

Providing families the basic tools to explore science together is imperative in successfully maintaining a personal connection with the subject. Now, more than ever, science is what we need in our lives.

They are continuously adding online learning resources, which can be found at https://www.kiddiescience.org/online-learning.html (details of the Science Kits will be shared on this page as well).
