48in48

48in48 started with a goal to empower communities to help 48 local nonprofits in 48 hours by assisting their marketing and technology efforts through hackathon-style events.

This event began with two Atlanta-based CEOs, Jeff Hilimire of Dragon Army and Adam Walker of Sideways8, with an idea to provide highly skilled professionals in technology with an opportunity to use their skills for a philanthropic purpose.

48in48 proved to be a huge success for volunteers as well as for the participating local non profit organizations! In addition to website development, non profits also received logos, blog posts, web content, personal website training sessions, Adwords training and 6 to 12 months of hosting. Each nonprofit received $25,000 of value bringing the total value delivered by 48in48 volunteers to $1.2M over the course of the project! Because of this success, 48in48 has already received a national award from Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.

The goal of this project is to bring 48in48 to multiple cities around the US while continuing to execute the event in Atlanta.
