Bony Knees is a Toronto-based music zine focused on sharing news, reviews, and interviews of punk, indie, and emo bands — especially if they're Canadian!

Together with my partner Liam, we have been running Bony Knees since February of 2025. During that time, we have gained over 200 followers on Instagram, published over 50 articles, and interviewed over 20 bands, including the Juno-award-winning, all-female punk band, NOBRO.

Something that we also feel makes us unique is that we're interested in talking to and interviewing anybody who is a part of the music ecosystem, since it takes more than just bands to create a thriving music scene! For example, we have an ongoing series called STILL LIFE where we interview concert photographers about their work and unique perspective on shows as a workplace for them.

We started out as a web-only project, but in August we self-published our very first print edition of Bony Knees! We have been selling copies ourselves online and at local shows, as well as by stocking them at local shops such as Secret Planet and The Beguiling.

Our dream to grow Bony Knees into a platform for our community. Right now, the two of us write almost all of the content, but we would like to put most of the money towards building an attractive contributor program that appropriately compensates people who want to write or photograph for us, as well as helping with ongoing costs, such as web-hosting and printing.
