For some time we have been organising the 'Grote Kleine Mensen Diner'. Which is an event where children in the ages of 5 till 10 take over our restaurant.
The kids need to apply for the position they'd like to work in. Just imagine, we get letters of recommendation from their parents telling us that they've worked with Tim for the last 7 years and just fill in how this letter can be the cutest thing ever, getting resumes from 5 year Mees, receiving videos through WhatsApp with 8 year old Rafi showing how he made diner (Nasi Goreng).
This is just the start, we get together with all the kids and that's when it starts.
We give them a tour through the restaurant, sit down and explain how everything is gonna go down. Let them make a menu and ask who wants to work in which position: Chef, dishwasher, service or bar.
On the day itself the kids do EVERYTHING, the only thing we do is check that they don't work to hard or hurt themselves.
Because this is something they love to and wanted to do themselves, in stead of a schoolassignment, they all really enjoy the day.
The guests are only their parents and friends.
Every cent we receive that day is donated to a charity that the kids choose themselves.

So this is the small version, we want to make it bigger. So we joined forces with a few of our neighbours and some partners we work with, and this time... ITS GONNA BE A FESTIVAL.
We will be providing a few foodstand and drinks talks, there will be a DJ, theater, spoken word, tax advice and a lot more different places for the kids to work!
