In the early days of COVID Sue and Tonee started making blankets from waste fabrics and unused blankets. To date they have made and delivered over 900 blankets.
The blankets are distributed to any, and all community need organizations in the area. These blankets are made from any type of fabric, as long as it can be warm. The older unused blankets are re-invented by clever sewing initiatives. Some fabulous blankets are created from fabrics which would be thrown into landfill. Creativity can create very positive results. No to landfill and Yes to supporting the community.
The Lake Mac Board thought this was an awesome idea and awarded $1000 to assist with the purchase and repair of sewing machines.
