Through adversity we are tested to find it in ourselves to move forward, what is that ability? How do we get through the obstacles of life? I believe the fundamental energy is hope. In all my art I try to instill a message of hope, positivity, and equality. Over the past couple of years I have been diagnosed and since have worked to manage an autoimmune disease, in doing so I decided to cultivate some hope in my own life by folding 1,000 paper cranes. It took me a casual 6 months of folding cranes on the bus, or during free time at work. Now I’d like to present a project I have started and need funding to finish. I would like to create and present an interactive and immersive art piece with my 1,000 papers cranes. I will create a hallway-like structure that viewers can walk through, triggering motions sensors, that will activate a motor that will move the cranes around the viewer. I would like to present the art piece at various venues and the awesome grant would help me get it off the ground.
