The Portland 'Puggy' Bank

An art sculpture designed by a local artist and placed in a spot downtown with high foot traffic to act as a piggy bank/ongoing public fundraiser for low to no income residents in the downtown area. I was thinking we could do a twist on the piggy bank and call it a 'puggy bank' cos ya know, keep portland weird, and have the artist design a really cute looking pug statue! There are many downtown non-profits that provide aid to Portland's homeless residents. Such as P:ear - helping homeless youth and Sisters of the Road - providing free an inexpensive meals. The money collected can go to supporting the 'ending homelessness efforts' that already exist or even go to funding a whole new effort to help provide safe shelter for our homeless and at risk friends!
