Music is a powerful, unifying force in Haitian culture. Hope on a String operates a community center in the micro-region of Arcahaie, Haiti that is a physical space for community engagement and empowerment through music. At Hope on a String, individuals can participate in music classes, performance groups, theater and dance initiatives, as well as skill-building workshops and participatory development initiatives that enrich and empower. Our 90+ hours of weekly programming serve an average of 500 participants per 14- 16 week session, and we have enrolled over 3,500 unique individuals over the last 4 years. Through individual confidence building, our grassroots model leads to group and community progress.
