1Acre Project

The 1Acre Project is a grassroots movement turning underused land—like lawns, parking lots, and empty lots—into vibrant, tech-connected community gardens that grow fresh food, create jobs, and build purpose.

We launched in Nashville in late 2024 and have already secured five donated plots, built six compost/recycling stations, and gathered over 450 active volunteers. Our app—developed with local students—gamifies real-world impact: users earn points for gardening, composting, and helping the community, which they can redeem for rewards and experiences with local businesses.

We’ve partnered with schools, soil companies, and are activating local influencers to raise awareness and funds. With every build, we track food grown, water used, and volunteer hours—and dedicate gardens to causes like food justice, mental health, or pollinator protection. Our mission is simple: feed people, reward purpose, and change the system one acre at a time.
