Play is the Way would like to promote 2 community building ideas to be funded through the Awesome Ipswich grant.
1. Conversation Hearts and Connections (February)
We would love to facilitate a community art project that focuses on kindness and neighborhood connections around Valentines day. We will purchase blank conversation heart lawn signs and curate several community decorating events. We will provide lawn signs and durable weather proof markers and encourage participants to draw joyful designs or write kind messages to neighbors then post on their lawn. Retail stores can post them too, and may also function as pick up locations for residents who couldn't make it to the decorating events.
2. The Week of The Young Child (April)
Last year we had a resounding success and squeezed a lot of community programming our of the $500 received from Awesome Ipswich. The funding would go to supplies for pop-up art studio events, Zumis Art Show supplies, musician Friday Family fun night event and promotional materials,
