Our September grant has been awarded to the Art-O-Mat, a nostalgic, interactive art exchange by artist Molly Rosner, coming to a local Harlem shop later this season! This custom-designed vending machine will dispense original, NYC-inspired mini art prints for just four quarters! With the support of this Awesome Foundation grant, the funds will be used to set up, supply, and install the first machine to launch the project.

In Molly's own words: "I’m creating a whimsical, interactive art exchange right in the heart of Harlem! My custom-designed vending machine will dispense original, NYC-inspired mini art prints for just $1. But here’s the awesome twist: when someone gets a print, they’re invited to leave their own miniature drawing or words of wisdom behind to help resupply the machine for the next person."

"This isn't just a vending machine: It's a self-sustaining engine of community creativity. It turns a simple transaction into a moment of connection, creating a living, crowdsourced art exchange and archive that reflects the vibrant spirit of our neighborhood. It's nostalgic and fun but also creates a creative opportunity to connect neighbors through creativity and passed-along knowledge."
