Awesome Foundation Rhode Island is supporting Tracy Jonsson-Laboy's upcoming fall project in which a a group of high school-aged youth will learn how wool cloth is made, and the history of husbandry, spinning, and crafts within the American BIPOC community.

Tracy is giving the students opportunities to try shearing a sheep, to wash, spin and weave wool, and to learn how to knit. The students will be from the Providence Met school, and the project is a continuation of Tracy's mission create community around—and foster appreciation for—the historical and artistic BIPOC and Black Spinners in RI.

Funds will assist with Tracy's own time as a working artist, materials for the program, and honorariums for guest practitioners.
