2018 Orlando Urban Film Festival (OUFF)
The Orlando Urban Film Festival (OUFF) is Orlando, Florida's African American film festival. We share the voice sharing the African American Experience in Florida market. Many students from schools and colleges don't have an opportunity to display their works in the mass market. We do not exclude any creative works from other cultures globally.
The 5th annual Orlando Urban Film Festival (OUFF) is on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26, 2018 at AMC Theatre Universal Studios City Walk. OUFF celebrates the works of Central Orlando’s African American filmmakers, as well as, a culturally diverse mix of independent filmmakers, producers, actors, artists, photographers and content creators from local, national and global markets.
On Friday Opening Night we will host, Life and Death: Through Glaring Eyes, a series of independent documentary film screenings about African American History in the State of Florida. The films to be featured are Harry T. Moore:-Dr. Florence Alexander, Director. The Groveland Four, Keith Salkowski, Director, Producer/Writer and Executive Producer National Productions WUCF Central Florida PBS. The Arthur G. Dozier Reform School For Boys, Duane Fernandez, Director. Our Darkest Hour: The Trayvon Martin Story Anthony B. Major, Associate Professor, UCF Nicholson School of Communication and Media. A panel discussion will follow the screenings.
Saturday, May 26 afternoon, OUFF, will honor and award the Young Directors and Writers. Late afternoon, we will honor and award Orlando's Independent film and music producers. The evening program, the Orlando Independent Filmmakers. They will screen and award 11 local film production teams.
“After launching the OUFF idea, I was surprised to find so many creative people in Orlando, filmmakers, actors, writers, models, make-up artists with no venue to expose their personal works,” said Marianne Eggleston. Orlando is a huge tourism market. The people who work in most of the local area venues are very talented.
