Soulfood & Soundtrack Sundays / Salt & Celluloid Film Series is a community-centered event series that brings together food, film, and conversation in Detroit. The project creates welcoming spaces where residents can gather around shared meals, watch culturally significant films, and engage in meaningful discussions about food, history, creativity, and community.

Through Soulfood & Soundtrack Sundays, guests experience curated meals inspired by music, storytelling, and Southern food traditions. Salt & Celluloid expands that experience through film screenings paired with themed culinary offerings and post-film conversations. Together, these events celebrate Detroit’s rich cultural diversity while creating opportunities for connection across neighborhoods, generations, and backgrounds.

Our goal is simple: use food and film as tools to bring people together and strengthen community.
