Puppets for the Páramo

Imagine a traveling puppet theater climbing a 4x4 trail to the high Andes of Colombia, right where water is born. We bring educational magic to rural children living in the Páramo ecosystem—the misty moorlands that act as natural sponges providing water to millions in the cities below.

Often, these children are unaware of the global importance of their own backyard. Through a puppet show starring "Fray the Frailejón" (a puppet based on the native water-capturing plant), we teach the water cycle in a way that is fun, interactive, and unforgettable.

But they don't just watch; they create! We will use the grant to fund a 4-weekend tour to isolated rural schools. After the show, we host a workshop where every child builds their own "Water Drop" puppet using recycled materials. They take their puppet home as a symbol of their pledge to become official "Guardians" of the local springs and rivers. It is environmental science, but wrapped in laughter and art.
