In March 2025, we (five organizers) hosted the first annual Ypsilanti zine festival, the Zine Jamboree. We had over 60 vendors and hundreds (estimated) of visitors trading, making, and buying zines and other art. We received such positive feedback--and enjoyed the experience so much ourselves--that we are hosting the second Zine Jamboree on March 28, 2025 at the same location, the Ypsilanti Freighthouse.

However, our sponsor for the artist fee informed us last year that their funding was a one time occurrence, fees for the Freighthouse have risen, and for accessibility purposes, we kept the application fees low. So, while we were able to use last year's vendor fees for a security deposit for the Freighthouse, we still have overhead costs. We are doubling the application fees to make the cost of running Zine Jamboree more sustainable in the future, but in the interim we are seeking additional funding sources.
