Digital Library for Rural Schools in Myanmar

We are building a free, cloud-based Library Management System to transform learning in rural schools and community libraries across Myanmar. Many rural schools face challenges: limited access to books, insufficient infrastructure, and difficulty tracking borrowing and returns. Teachers and librarians often spend hours manually managing inventories, and children have few opportunities to explore educational resources beyond their classrooms. Our platform provides an easy-to-use digital system that allows libraries to manage books, track borrowing, and generate reports efficiently. This ensures children and teachers have immediate access to reading materials, empowering both students and educators to make the most of available resources.

The system is cloud-based, accessible from anywhere, eliminating the need for costly on-site servers. It allows multiple schools and libraries to operate under a single platform, making it scalable and sustainable. By digitizing library management, teachers can focus on teaching, and students can engage with reading more efficiently. The platform also supports multi-tenant libraries, enabling smaller schools to share resources while maintaining individual records securely.

This project empowers underserved communities by providing equitable access to educational resources in regions where literacy is limited. Beyond digitizing book management, the system develops critical reading skills, encourages self-directed learning, and supports lifelong education. Strengthening educational infrastructure in rural areas contributes to better academic outcomes, higher literacy rates, and improved educational equity. Our vision is to scale across Asia, bringing digital library access to more rural schools and creating a network of digitally enabled educational spaces serving thousands of students and educators.
