NoteWorthy is a simple, joyful initiative designed to build stronger, kinder communities by encouraging small acts of connection in everyday moments. The concept is easy: community members write thoughtful, uplifting messages on colourful heart-shaped stickers. These stickers are then shared — placed on someone’s coffee cup, takeaway bag, or other small items at local cafés and businesses — spreading surprise moments of positivity and kindness.

By partnering with local cafés, and small businesses, this project simultaneously supports local enterprise and nurtures social connection. Each note has the power to brighten someone’s day, create a ripple of goodwill, and remind people they belong to a caring community.

Our approach actively involves volunteers, and community members in crafting and distributing the messages, making it an inclusive, accessible initiative for all ages and backgrounds. Importantly, NoteWorthy fosters intergenerational and cross-cultural engagement, reducing loneliness and strengthening community ties.

With your support, we will cover the costs of printing stickers, supplying materials, and promoting the project widely to involve as many participants and local businesses as possible. We aim to distribute thousands of notes across Hornsby and surrounding areas, generating measurable increases in social connection, local business engagement, and community wellbeing.

We already operate another program, called the SideWalk Talk, where we put chairs out in Hornsby mall once a month and using volunteers trained in heart-centred listening to sit and listen. As part of this initiative we put a table out with an opportunity to either take or write a note, so this is an extension of something we have been running for a few months now.

This small, but powerful, initiative embodies grassroots kindness in action — accessible, scalable, and designed to make everyone feel valued and connected.
