Our awesome project is called I’ll Scratch Yours, a scratch night of deliciously fresh new writing & performance. We’re serving you piping hot new work, fresh out of Glasgow’s theatrical oven.
But, what is a scratch night? In theatre, a “scratch” performance is where brand new work is presented unfinished, unpolished and with little or no budget, and is meeting an audience for the first time.
Our event consists of 6 scratch performances, ranging from theatre to music, from performance art to poetry, ending with our signature touch… a mystery special guest! Previous special guest have included a magician and stand up comic, always ending the night on a high!
But we are more than just a great night at the theatre. I’ll Scratch Yours was created to give a platform to underrepresented voices and to those who face barriers in getting their work seen. We prioritise underrepresented voices, backgrounds and genders, creating opportunity and access. For both artists and audiences, theatre and culture is becoming increasingly inaccessible. We are on mission to change that.
Since 2024, we have successfully produced 3 sold-out events in Glasgow & the response has been incredible. There is a huge appetite for this kind of night, from artists eager to test bold new ideas and from audiences who want to experience a slice of something new and unpolished.
Scratch nights are exciting, surprising & full of possibility. I’ll Scratch Yours is a night where you can be entertained, challenged and included. A place where new ideas take their very first breath in front of a live audience. But above all, they are a fun, vibrant and vital part of the Glasgow community.
