Warners Bay High School Breakfast Club

A teacher at Warners Bay High, observed that numerous students were arriving at school without having eaten breakfast. She consulted Warners Bay Rotary could support a basic breakfast initiative for the students. The Breakfast Club commenced in Term Two with 18 participants and has since grown substantially, now serving an average of 100 students, with a peak attendance of 125 on a single day. The program offers a simple breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, cereals, toast, and beverages such as fruit juice and Up & Go. In addition to meeting nutritional needs, the Breakfast Club fosters opportunities for social interaction among students, teachers, and volunteers, helping to break down barriers and reduce the stigma associated with not being able to have a morning meal.
