Know thy neighbor

Following an installation series titled “idle hands” which included 8’tall portraits of local marketed and creators and “idle hands landing gear” featuring 8’ tall portraits of philadelphia airport employees, I’d like to create a series of mural portraits (permanent/temporary) of local small businesses owners and workers to be painted on the exterior of their business through my city. Accompanied with an interview and “article” about each individual. My hope is to bring awareness to the all the people within local communities to the men and women who live and work in that community. The people who have been surviving and thriving long before new faces have arrived and try to bring together a sense of true community. To offset the unfortunate feeling of division and displacement that is an indent in the neighborhood I live in.
