Hack The Land

Hack The Land is a hackathon fully led by high-schoolers for HS students. A hackathon as described by Hack Club as a social coding marathon where teenagers come together to build projects for a weekend and share them with the world. While there are other hackathons organized by Hyland, TechCorpsHack, and NASA. These events unfortunately do not have teenage organizers at the core of their events and oftentimes have themes which are good for giving participants a pathway doesn't give students the opportunity to create a project that represents them, their interests or their team and the teams shared interests. Hack The Land aims to break this dynamic and create an event where teenagers are empowered to create the projects of their imaginations with teenagers at the core of this event. Both as participants and as organizers.
Essentially, our event is dedicated to giving Cleveland high-school students an amazing opportunity to meet with others who share their same interests, learn about, computer science, hardware, and coding. Culminating in creating a project in a team by collaborating with others and applying what they learn in creating an awesome project using provided hardware and taught skills with the support of our organizing team.
