About Us

The Twin Cities chapter of the Awesome Foundation wants to help keep Minneapolis and St. Paul awesome. Started in the fall of 2015, we distribute at least six $1,000 awesome grants annually. Our grants have no strings attached, and we do not claim ownership or future rights to your project, nor do we wish the funds to be repaid. We just want to your support awesome ideas.

Awesome Twin Cities particularly likes smaller, start-up projects that can demonstrate how $1,000 will tip the scales to make the project happen. We’d like to fund awesome projects in a wide range of areas: science, technology, arts, social good and much more. Our definition of “awesome” is intentionally left up to your imagination. To see examples of funded ideas, check out our Facebook page:

We love projects that positively impact lots of people rather than only a small group, and especially people in St. Paul and Minneapolis. We want to learn about your project and say, “Wow, that’s awesome!”

Our grant cycle ends on the 15th of every month, with an award made before the end of the month.

To save your time and ours, know that we do not fund: projects happening outside the 7 county metro area of Minneapolis/St. Paul; we are not going to pay your bills, fund your travel, fund your personal development idea, fund your business proposal, nor a project with a strongly religious point of view. It is extremely unlikely that we will fund your website.

Other than that, why not apply?
