The Jaguar News Broadcast is written, directed and produced by elementary school students at Barbara Jordan Early College Prep Elementary. The trilingual multicultural student news production covers campus news and current events at the school.

By bringing together students of all racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, the production brings out the AWESOME in students. And thus far, they've been able to do it all using students' personal phones and a donated laptop with missing keys.

A $1000 grant from the Austin Awesome Foundation will give the students a much-needed upgrade. A new computer and editing equipment will allow these budding journalists to record and edit interviews more swiftly, accurately and professionally, teaching them valuable skills along the way.
