A Propos

Awesome Annapolis is making the area more awesome $1000 at a time, no-strings-attached. We are high on action and low on bureaucracy.

We particularly like smaller, start-up projects that can demonstrate how $1000 will tip the scales to make the project happen -where the project can be achieved with the $1000 grant versus the $1000 going toward a larger funding need.

CRITICAL is the need to see awesome in our own community in Annapolis County - a good guide for reach would be using the school catchment area. Pitches for projects outside our community will not be considered so it's important that you let us know how your idea will make our community just a little bit better than it already is.

August winning pitch was National Artist in Residency competition presented by Deb Kuzyk. Congratulations on the $1000 grant.

People's Choice award of $100 was generously sponsored by trustee Byron Merserau for August. Annapolis Valley Ballooning - Terilyn and J.P. Lemaire were the winners chosen by the individuals that joined us in the audience.

We're at the AR golf course on Wednesday September 6th and pitches will start at 7 pm. Come early, have dinner and sit on the deck and enjoy a full evening. Everyone welcome.

The generous trustees have made the following projects possible with their $400 donation:

  1. Annapolis Pool Society’s purchase of the automatic pool cleaner
  2. Young Company Fall Theatre Series Free Workshops
  3. Annapolis River Guardians water quality testing
  4. Annapolis Royal Space Agency Space Probe Launch
  5. Art Heals Exhibit to support Mental Health Awareness
  6. Tartan Wave new business launch
  7. Come Play with US –Free day of Exploring Fibre Crafts
  8. Easter Eggstravaganza at Fort Anne
  9. AWEC Dance Marathon for IWK
  10. Summer 2017 Free Art Workshops & Art Club
  11. Bear River Community Ride

We do not claim ownership or future rights to your project, nor do we wish the funds to be repaid. We love projects that positively impact lots of people rather than only a small group, and especially people in Annapolis area.
