Re:Sound

Re:Sound is an experimental audio/visual series started in 2015 which explores the relationship between forgotten spaces, sound abstraction and the natural environment. The series takes place on the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve, a 215-acre park that formerly served as one of the first Naval Ammunition Depots.

Our event is held in a concrete munitions storage magazine. The architecture of the space traps sounds resulting in a beautiful and prolonged reverberation. There is no electricity, so everything is powered by solar or by generators. The money will go toward operating costs and making an all access ramp for the building.
