Robotics Team for Sophia Academy Project

To enhance the Curriculum 21 skills, we would like to add a Lego Robotics team to work toward the state’s regional competition. A robotics program is basic to all STEM programs, and an example of multisensory instruction which is a hallmark of our curriculum. Students will develop a sense of community while working collaboratively to solve a complex technology-based problem through this proven national program. A group of 8-10 students 5th-8th grades will construct and program a LEGO ‘robot’ and will publish the written and video learning reflections and the history of their project. The first funding will purchase the materials and fees, and with sufficient funding, we will add an experienced Robotics Coach to assist our staff with this project.
